When used for people with vascular dementia , Aricept generally improves thinking and the thought processes.?? During one study , the apparent concerns? was that the death rate and rates were scored higher than those not taking the drug.?? It seemed that those patients taking Aricept had a greater chance of dying than those taking the placebo , the inert sugar pills.
With careful statistical analysis it appears that the pattern was not prevalent or repeatable.? What this means that this count of increased chance of death, while taking Aricept, as a treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease was not repeatable or predictable when the study was repeated in a similar manner. The cause of this one report of increased death rates appears to be an anomaly or a one time chance untimely event – a coincidence with no known cause or effect that did nto happen again or any regular basis.
